Dear Grandmother,
I'm not quite sure how to start, considering I will probably never give this letter to you. I just found out you were sick, mom told me Tuesday evening...I don't know what to say. I know you are scared right now, so am I, but you need to concentrate on being brave and strong...I will be scared enough for both of us. I need you to be ok, the little curly haired boy that followed you around years ago and the 29 year old man writing this... both of us. You always told me how proud you were of me, even though there wasn't always reason. You always told me how handsome I was, even though there were times when I was ugly on the inside. Well right now you have something ugly inside of you, but you are the most beautiful grandmother in the world...and I am proud of you.
The man I have become will always be there for you, trying to be strong and brave, giving you the smile you love at every opportunity. The little boy is crying though grandmother, and he is scared for you, and scared for his mom because she needs you too. Remember all of this when you are at the hospital, when you think its too hard or you feel alone, know that I am there for you and I love you.
That handsome, curly headed little boy who could do no wrong and that made you proud...he loves you and isn't ready to let you go.

that's so beautiful! you should give that to her, really. I am sorry to hear she's sick. life is difficult at times, that i do know. hang in there.
Best wishes for your grandmother and your family. Many of us have been through the kind of situation you are facing. I wish there were something I could say to help, but really my only advice is to be as supportive as possible to your grandmother.
Yes, that is beautiful. Hope you send it to her, and I'm so sorry you and yours are going through a difficult time.
i wanted to leave you a comment when i read this yesterday but i was in a hurry and feared i would leave some inadequate comment.That may still happen but anyway...
As you know, i just recently lost my grandmother and she was pretty much my idol. There is nothing like losing a best friend and lots of people can relate to what you are going through. Sharing your emotions is really important right now and i also think you should let your grandma know how you feel. Giving her the letter would probably mean a lot to her. Just remember that we are only made better people by the amzing people who come into our lives.
